Our platform is designed to offer secure, frictionless anti-counterfeiting verification using unique QR codes. When an end consumer scans a Genuprod QR code on a product packaging, we do not require any app downloads, registration, or submission of personally identifiable details (such as names, phone numbers, or emails). However, to detect cloned codes and fraudulent replication (such as the same identifier being scanned in two distant locations simultaneously), we automatically collect minimal, non-personally identifiable metadata:
- Scan Timestamp: The exact date and time of the scan.
- Coarse Location Data: General geographic information (city and country level only) derived from the user's IP address. We do not access high-accuracy GPS coordinates.
- Device and Agent Attributes: Basic client information (e.g., browser type, operating system, and mobile device model) to ensure layout compatibility.
- Scan Frequency: The number of times a specific serialized code has been accessed.
Anti-Cloning Protection Note: The metadata collected during scans is strictly utilized to identify "Super-fakes". If a code is detected as scanned multiple times or in geographically inconsistent areas, the system flags the scan as suspicious to protect the consumer from potential counterfeit goods.
3. Information Collected from Brand Partners
When you register as an enterprise or boutique brand partner, inquire about pricing, or book a demo, we collect business-related details to manage your account and deliver services. This includes:
- Contact Details: Your full name, corporate email address, and phone number.
- Company Information: Organization name, industry vertical, and integration requirements.
- Account Credentials: Password hashes and access tokens used to log into the partner portal.
- Inventory Metadata: Product names, batch details, and quantity figures generated for unique serial creation.
4. How We Use Collected Data
We use the data we collect for the following specific purposes:
- To authenticate product codes and return instant feedback to the end consumer.
- To detect, prevent, and report fraudulent cloning or unauthorized distribution patterns of QR codes to the respective brand owner.
- To provide analytics dashboards for brand partners to track geographic scan patterns and flag counterfeit hotspots.
- To respond to customer support inquiries, messages submitted via our contact forms, and scheduling bookings.
- To maintain and improve the security, performance, and reliability of our infrastructure.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We believe in absolute transparency and do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third-party advertisers. Information is only shared under the following conditions:
- With Brand Owners: Anonymized scanning metadata (such as general city location, timestamp, and device type) is shared with the brand partner who generated the QR code to assist them in identifying illicit supply chains.
- Service Providers: We may share minimal backend data with secure infrastructure hosts or email dispatch servers (such as SMTP providers) solely to perform necessary operations.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process, we may disclose information to protect Genuprod's rights or comply with judicial proceedings.

We use standard, lightweight cookies on our marketing site to remember user sessions, analyze site traffic, and track user flows. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, though some parts of the site or partner portal might not function optimally without them.
